Zendz Studios
Zendz Comics Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Zendz Studios develops Zendz Comics, a comic reader for Android and iOS. This policy explains how the app handles information when you import comics, connect to your own servers, read, organize your library, or purchase Pro features.
Our approach
Zendz Comics works without a Zendz account. Your comic library and reading activity are managed on your device, not in a Zendz-hosted library service. The app does not automatically upload your comics, library catalog, reading history, or server credentials to Zendz Studios. It does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your personal information.
Information used on your device
The app accesses and stores information needed to provide its features:
- Comic files and library information: files and folders you select, imported or downloaded copies, filenames, file locations, comic metadata, cover images, page information, and archive errors.
- Reading and organization: reading progress and status, display titles, series or collection assignments, selected covers, and reading and download preferences.
- Server connections: source names, server addresses, ports, share or folder paths, usernames, passwords, and domains, where needed for the sources you configure.
- Purchase status: whether Pro features are available and when that status was last checked, so the app can retain access when a store connection is temporarily unavailable.
Library records and preferences are stored in the app's local storage. Saved server credentials use the operating system's secure credential storage. Access to documents and local-network services is used to open, browse, or download the comics you choose.
Connections to your servers
When you configure an SMB, WebDAV, or SFTP source, the app connects directly to that server to authenticate, list files, and retrieve comic content or covers. The server receives the connection and authentication information required by its protocol and can observe your IP address and file requests. Zendz Studios does not proxy these connections.
Your server or hosting provider may maintain its own access logs and has its own data-handling practices. Connect only to servers you trust. Network protection depends on the protocol and server configuration; use HTTPS for WebDAV, SFTP for encrypted file transfers, and trusted networks for SMB. Do not assume every supported connection is encrypted.
Purchases and app stores
Apple App Store or Google Play processes Pro purchases. The app uses the platform's purchase services to request purchases, receive product and transaction information, check ownership, and restore access. Zendz Studios does not receive your payment-card details from the app. Apple and Google handle store accounts, payments, transaction records, and any platform diagnostics under their own privacy policies and your platform settings.
See the Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
Exports, diagnostics, and support
Library-organization exports are created only when you choose to export and share them. They can contain comic filenames, metadata, file hashes, and organization choices, but not comic contents or saved server credentials. The destination you select receives the export and handles it under its own practices.
The SMB diagnostic-copy feature places a report on your clipboard when you request it. It includes the app version, platform, server type, connection-test stages, and failure category. That report intentionally omits server addresses, shares, folder paths, usernames, passwords, and domains. It is not automatically sent to Zendz Studios.
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and the message and attachments you send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, and resolve your request. Our email service provider processes those messages to deliver and store correspondence. Please do not send passwords or private comic files when requesting support.
Retention and your choices
Local library records, preferences, and files remain on your device until you remove them or the operating system removes the app's data. Temporary files and cached content may be cleared by the app or operating system. Use the app's library, download, cache, and source controls to manage the information you retain. Removing a server source also requests removal of its saved credentials; separately imported copies are independent and may need to be removed separately.
Uninstalling generally removes the app's local data, but exported files, original documents, operating-system backups, and some secure credential-storage entries may remain. Remove saved sources before uninstalling if you want their credentials removed, and manage external files and backups separately. Zendz Studios cannot remotely access or delete your device's library or files on your servers. Removing app data does not erase purchase records held by Apple or Google.
We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to address your request and maintain necessary support records. You may request deletion of information you have sent us by emailing [email protected]. We may retain information where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Security
The app uses operating-system app-storage protections and secure credential storage for saved server credentials. These protections do not mean that every comic file, database record, export, or network connection is encrypted. Protect your device, choose secure server configurations, and share exports only with trusted destinations. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or our data-handling practices change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before introducing new uses of personal information.
